Abstract

The propagation of the thermal wave caused by solar radiation in the first 20 cm from the surface of the Trajan Column has been analysed. There is good agreement between the model and the experimental data taken on the surface. This would lead to the simulation of the propagation of the thermal wave in the internal layers. An analysis of the sides of the column most subjected to physical stress has been made.
