Abstract
A computational modelling framework is presented which enables the simulation of cardiac electro-mechanics from the cellular level up to the whole organ level. At the cellular level this framework makes use of the recent development of CellML, an XML based mark up language for the storage and exchange of biological models. The modelling framework is incorporated into CMISS. a computational package that is used to define the tissue and organ level models as well as the numerical solution of the models implemented using this framework.
