Abstract

A survey was made of several cage-type current shunts commercially available and/or developed by National Metrology Institutes. One design was selected from those as prospectively having a large bandwidth. A lumped equivalent circuit model for current shunts assembled according to this design is summarized here. The ac-dc difference and phase displacement of shunts with nominal currents from 0.5 A to 20 A are computed using standard two-port network theory.
