Abstract

Abstract The effect of television food advertising on children's diets is examined, after controlling for other potentially important dietary influences. The investigation utilizes a structural equation model estimated on cross-sectional data. Long-run effects of television food advertising are detected, but their impact is found to be very small in comparison with that of other effects.
