Abstract
This paper incorporates distributed resources with practically instantaneous reactive power controls in the quasi-steady-state, long-term dynamic simulation of a power system. A concise model of a dedicated distribution feeder is developed including LTC, switching capacitor banks as well as a variable speed wind farm. Two such feeders connecting actual wind farms in the Hellenic Interconnected system are simulated as case studies to assess the reactive support they can provide to a weak transmission corridor.
