Abstract

The status of human problem solving theories of organizations is evaluated along philosophical, methodological, and theoretical dimensions. Suggestions for future research center on how the paradigm might be applied to understanding the unstructured aspects of strategic planning. In this connection, some initial experiments with a simulation model of environmental perception and strategic choice are discussed.
