Abstract

The modeling of plasma heating in an open magnetic trap is considered. The characteristics of heating associated with the difference in confinement regimes at relatively low and high temperatures are analyzed. An open magnetic mirror trap is a convenient object for modeling when studying fundamentals of hot plasma physics. The possibilities of construction of an energy system based on such configuration and predicting its parameters based on the energy balance model are discussed. The modeling of plasma heating in an open magnetic trap is considered.
