Abstract

In this paper, finite element modeling of a simplified human tissue model consisting of muscle, fat and skin layers is carried out. A thermoelectric generator is placed in the fat layer and functioned as a power supply for electrically active implants. As the finite element method produces a large number of ordinary differential equations, model order reduction becomes the only way out of the computational complexity. In this work, the height of the thermocouples, which has a large influence on the generated power, is considered as a geometrical parameter. A modified matrix interpolation based parametric model order reduction method is used to construct the reduced order model valid for an arbitrary parameter value.
