Abstract

Modeling of full-scale propellers characteristics at the design stage is one of the actual practical tasks. A method has been developed for converting characteristics from the model to nature to solve this task. The method is based on modeling the propeller operation using Eduard Papmel modified method. The boundary layer characteristics are calculated for the blades cylindrical sections and the axisymmetric body modeling the hub. Compliance between the evaluation characteristics and a model tests result is ensured by selecting a number of parameters that take into account the features of the flow around the blades and the incoming flow.
