Abstract

About 15 years after Tilley and Zeks published their model for phase transition in ferroelectric (FE) thin films, rediscovery of the model (which is also known as Tilley–Zeks TZ model) has led to further progress in elucidation of properties of phase transitions of FE thin films. Quite substantial work relating the TZ model to further phase transition properties in FE thin film is done owing to the motivations of Ishibashi; and through his enthusiasm to have better understand of the model, he has proposed a new model for FE thin film named “Effective Landau-Devonshire-type Theory.”
