Abstract

A modeling method of excess loss taking account of random grain orientation in non-oriented electrical steel sheet is proposed. In the proposed method, the steel sheet is modeled with grains having random orientation and parallel magnetic domain structure. The anisotropic magnetic characteristics due to the parallel domain structure is considered in each grain. The initial BH curve and excess loss obtained from the proposed model are compared with those of actual non-oriented steel sheets. It is shown that the initial BH curve can be reproduced in high flux density region, but the excess loss can be reproduced in low flux density region.
