Abstract

Energy levels and wave functions were calculated numerically for a system of two to four interacting electrons and holes in a quantum well by a direct solution of the many-body Schroedinger equation. It was found that long-wavelength tails of the emission spectrum of electron–hole complexes decayed exponentially. Analytical expressions were proposed to describe them. The spontaneous emission line widths in the trion and biexciton spectra were estimated.
