Abstract

Accurate flow stress model is crucial for investigating magnesium alloys deformation behavior at the elevated temperatures. Based on the deformation mechanism of closed-packed hexagonal (CPH) structure material, an analytical method, which reflects temperature, strain and strain rate effect by introducing temperature-compensated strain rate (Zener–Hollomon parameter), is proposed in this study. The model has been applied on three published experimental data and predicted flow stress curves match well with those measurements.
