Abstract

The objective of this paper is to develop an Interpretive Structural model that identifies the association between numerous sustainable manufacturing facilitators. The study is divided into three sections. The first section deals with identification of frequently used facilitators of Sustainable manufacturing from Exhaustive literature survey. The second section explains about Pareto analysis performed to retain vital few facilitators. The third section explains about modeling framework for identified facilitators from Pareto analysis through interpretive structural modeling and Micmac analysis. The study developed an ISM model with six levels and results of Micmac analysis shows that ten factors namely ‘Reduce use of chemicals’, ‘Sustainable materials’, ‘Process Optimization’, ‘Renewable energies’, ‘Optimal resource utilization’, ‘Sustainable Supply Chain’, ‘Environmental management’ and ‘Eco design’ are clustered as linkage facilitators which impacts practices of Sustainable manufacturing.
