Abstract
In this paper, propagation characteristics of current field are studied in air-sea-seabed three-layer media from a horizontal electric dipole placed in shallow sea. The differences of electromagnetic field propagation characteristics between air-sea-seabed three-layer media and air-sea or sea-seabed two-layer media are analysed on focus, based on the CST modeling and simulation method. The most important difference between the two kinds of models is that the electromagnetic propagation distance is much further in air-sea-seabed three-layer media than it in air-sea or sea-seabed two-layer media, because the lateral propagation path in air-sea-seabed model has double effects from air-sea and sea-seabed.
