Abstract
Fault diagnosis of three phase Voltage Source Inverters (VSIs) is an interesting area of research. Some standards are already existing for diagnosis of fuse is blown, switching devices overcurrent, overvoltage protection, missing line etc. There are still tasks that in general are not covered since it needs additional sensors or misplaced fault diagnosis methods. There is a significant diagnosis task that has not been covered by the ones planned as there are switching devices faults. The switching devices faults can be classified as open circuit (OC) and short circuit (SC) faults. SC fault protection has turn into a typical feature of driver integrated circuit to the position that inverters can be considered SC resistant. On the other hand, less research outcomes have been available on open circuit faults. Hence, this paper presents modeling and diagnosis of OC fault in three phase VSIs.
