Abstract

This paper presents a comparative analysis of the reduced common mode voltage methods for three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter. The effect of common mode current damages the bearings and electromagnetic interference in the machine. The proposed a novel pulse width modulation (PWM) technique to eliminate common mode voltage (CMV) in NPC inverter. The modulation strategy to eliminate common mode voltage in three-level inverter is based on the “three zero common mode vectors The space vector diagram, which consist of vector of zero common mode voltage, it fully explored by property depicting the base voltage vectors and their corresponding active switching vectors. The output voltages, output currents and common mode voltage of each modulation method are thoroughly investigates by analytical methods, simulations and experiments
