Abstract

This paper studies the electromagnetic behavior of carbon nanotube (CNT) dimers embedded in a lossy dielectric slab. The numerical results show that CNT embedded in a dielectric slab exhibits interesting phenomena that are not detected while in homogeneous environment. The CNT resonance frequency decreases with the depth of the CNT inside the slab. Symmetric CNT dimer behaves as an asymmetric CNT dimer when embedded in a dielectric slab. The resonance and power level varies significantly due to the proximity between the slab interface and the CNT network.
