Abstract

This paper introduces examples, implementation methods and the perspectives of the Star Model and the Dimensional Model applied in the banking. Considering there is no widely-used quantitative indicators to evaluate the influence on the scope of downstream applications when major data changes in engineering practice, this paper proposes a quantitative index ‘Model Shielding Efficiency’, and then compares the actual shielding effect of the Star Model and the Dimensional Model by listing the MSE actually generated during the reconstruction of the Credit Management System and the Accounting System, which are the 2 principal systems in banking. The MSE can be used as a reference in subsequent practical applications.
