Abstract
ABSTRACT In this paper, robust predictive control (RPC) based on direct torque control space vector modulation (DTC-SVM) of the doubly fed induction generator wind turbine system (DFIG-WTS) is investigated to improve energy capture effectiveness. A novel cost function is introduced for the predictive speed regulator where the aerodynamic torque is considered as an unknown perturbation. This technique is designed to improve dynamic performance such as reference tracking, disturbance rejection, and robustness to parameter variations. The use of the DTC-SVM technique enhances performance in terms of constant switching frequency and reduced torque-flux ripples. The simulation results using real-time MATLAB/Simulink demonstrate the feasibility and validity of the proposed strategy, where very satisfactory performance has been achieved.
