Abstract

This paper presents a mixed technique for approximating continuous interval systems of higher order using stability equation (SE) method and Routh approximation with mid-point concept. The SE method is used to calculate the denominator coefficients of a reduced model although numerator parameters are acquired by using Routh approximation with mid-point concept. The mixed methodology is simple and ensures the reduced model’s stability if the original model is stable. To demonstrate the utility of the proposed approach, numerical examples are discussed.
