Abstract
The weakening in solid earth media caused by pore, fracture, seam, structure face and structural style, and the weakening of mechanic property in liquid earth media caused by the existence of free gas and resolved gas, could be abstracted to weakenness by the theory of seismic wave propagation in discrete media, defining that the mechanic property of earth media are comprised of elasticity, viscosity and weakenness. The primary problem to be solved in propagation theory of seismic wave in discrete media is to investigate the basic theory and mechanic essence of weakenness. The intrinsic relation of discrete media and damage media model is consistent in pattern. With the concept of equilibrant media, damage model is used to equilibrate discrete media model; then, damage factor is used to equilibrate weakenness factor, establishing damage factor model, i.e. the theory model of equilibrant weakenness factor. It could be applied to calculate the experimental data of rock physics obtained by the laboratory of Stanford University and other sections
