Abstract

The inhomogeneity of the formation and the wellbore pressure drop are two key factors that cause the fluctuation of water breakthrough along horizontal wells. In this paper, a coupling model has been established between the two phase flow and the variable mass flow in horizontal wellbore in bottom-water drive reservoir, and the solution has been given. Keeping the average permeability and the permeability variation coefficient along wellbore constant and changing the distribution of permeability, we analyzed the relationship of liquid production section and permeability section along wellbore, watercut along wellbore and watercut in well mouth. The results show that under the influence of wellbore pressure drop watercut of horizontal wells is related to the distribution of permeability along wellbore. Under the conditions of constant liquid production rate in well mouth, as the distance between high permeability zone and wellbore heel becomes smaller, the production rate in the high permeability zone will be higher, the water breakthrough time of horizontal wells will be shorter, watercut in well mouth will increase more slowly and development efficiency will be worse.
