Abstract
Due to the complex anatomy and small size of the involved structures, otological surgery requires training in order to obtain the proper skills. For ethical and practical reasons, the operating room is not the proper place for achieving this. The lack of anatomical pieces and the increased difficulty in procuring human temporal bones (in Romania and abroad) have led to alternative solutions.
