Abstract

This article is a continuation of a series of papers on supporting and improving processes for acquiring and maintaining Human Capital Management (HCM) in an organisation. Communication processes are among the most important in HCM. Analysed processes require reliable tools that take into account the specific characteristics of human capital. The aim of this paper is to describe the basic assumptions about the initial maturity model created within the framework of ongoing research. The paper presents theoretical issues connected with maturity models used to support HCM. As a conclusion, the paper indicates necessity to verify correctness of a new dedicated method for assessing maturity of the communication processes in HCM. The next part of research should concern the functioning of the developed maturity model in the sample organisations. For this purpose, surveys and interviews with representatives of these organisations will be conducted. Based on the information obtained this way the maturity model will be improved.
