Abstract

A semiempirical model is proposed for propagation parameters of high-TC superconducting (HTS) coupled microstrip lines taking into account anisotropic dielectric permittivity of sapphire substrate and its temperature dependence. The nonhomogeneous current distribution in a cross-section of the lines is considered for attenuation coefficient calculation. The current density distribution in the coupled strips and in the ground plane is found for the even and odd modes. The model is verified by a comparison with full-wave analysis results and experimental investigations of coupled microstrip line HTS resonators. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
