Abstract

The aim of the work is to numerically simulate the degradation of elastic properties of carbon-fiber-reinforced polymers based on the previously developed model of damage in solids with mesoscopic defects. The paper presents a mathematical statement of cyclic loading of a representative volume of composite material with regard to damage accumulation. An analytical solution of the problem has been obtained, which made it possible to describe both the degradation of elastic properties and the Wöhler curve (fatigue curve). An identification procedure of unknown model constants has been performed. Comparison of modeling results with experimental data of other authors showed good agreement.
