Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly disrupted Jakartans, especially those who are heavily dependent on public transportation. Based on travel behavior surveys during the pandemic and drawing upon the notion of mobility justice, this chapter examines socioeconomic inequality in access to public transportation. The fear is that 15 years of public transformation reform reducing socio-economic inequality might be lost due to the pandemic. Expected budget cuts will result in less optimal travel conditions and passengers shifting away to private modes such as motorcycle use, which will choke the already crowded city’s public spaces.
