Abstract

In Brazil, medium-sized cities have been experiencing chaotic traffic, traffic jams, pollution, and consequently reduced the quality of life, mobility and social inclusion. The use of the bicycle has proved to be a sustainable solution, since it reduces the number of vehicles in circulation and the levels of pollution, guaranteeing a more harmonious city. The objective of this study was to analyze the use and use of bicycle paths in medium-sized Brazilian cities, as an option for sustainable urban mobility. For this, the methodology used was the bibliographical research and the analysis of three medium-sized Brazilian cities that had success in the implantation or rehabilitation of cycle lanes focusing on sustainable urban mobility.
