Abstract

Turkish minority in Germany is currently the largest group of foreigners who live in Germany. At the same time, it is the least assimilated with German society and does not have the status of a national minority. This raises many conflicts between the Turkish-Germans and reflected on the relations between Turkey and Germany. Turks constantly have a sense of cultural diversity and feel discriminated against, while the Germans are worried about their own identity and monoethnicity. This situation has its historical background, when tempted by the prospect of a better life Turks massively came to Germany, and the Germans were looking for cheap and uneducated workforce. Unfortunately, the stereotypical approach to presenting both sides today, none of which shows no willingness to integrate. In this article author’s attempt was made to present the internal problems of the Turkish minority, who resides in Germany, its role in politics, education levels, as well as the behavior of German society and politics assimilation of Germany.
