Abstract

A novel MnCr2O4 nanocomposite modified carbon paste electrode (MnCr2O4/MCPE) based sensor were developed and validated by electrochemical detection of norepinephrine (NE). The MnCr2O4 nanocomposite was synthesized by hydrothermal method. The synthesized nanocomposite was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Infra Red (IR) spectroscopy techniques. To identify the redox properties of the MnCr2O4/MCPE were examined by cyclic voltammetry studies. The investigation of modified electrode has high electroactive surface area, the oxidation and reduction peak occurred at pH7.4 the supporting electrolyte was 0.2 M phosphate buffer solution. MnCr2O4/MCPE as very low detection limit (LOD) is 0.034 µM, high sensitivity, wide linear range (0.0003 mM to 0.0045 mM), applied to the injection sample analysis and the obtained results are satisfactory, good reproducibility exhibits great potential in practical applications.
