Abstract
Calcic to sodic amphiboles rich in Mn have been found in association with Mn-rich sodic pyroxenes and spessartine garnets in quartzose schists of the Sambagawa terrane of the limori district, Wakayama Prefecture, Southwest Japan. The amphiboles range in composition from subcalcic tremolite through winchite to crossite. One of the amphiboles is tirodite, as it has considerably high content of MnO (14.27 wt. %).
