Abstract
Electronic structures of Zn 1− x Mn x Te films (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.7) have been investigated by means of in situ measurements of inverse-photoemission and photoemission spectra. The Mn 3d spin-exchange splitting energy of 7.2 ± 0.2 eV is evaluated from emission peaks due to the Mn 3d↓ and 3d↑ states with e g symmetry. On the other hand, the whole spectrum including multielectron satellite compares well with the Mn 3d inverse-photoemission and photoemission spectra calculated using a configuration-interaction theory.
