Abstract

Axial diffusion coefficients of tracer particles were obtained by the method of impulse response. The results show that the diffusion coefficients of the particles of different densities are larger than those of identical particles. The assumption of completely reflecting barriers for the end walls is inapplicable to the mixing of heterogeneous particle systems.
