Abstract

Mixed phase electrolytes consisting of mixtures of Li 3 N and LiCF 3 SO 3 containing PEO have been constructed in an attempt to combine some of the advantages of crystalline and polymeric ionic conductors. At small volume percentages of polymer (5–10%) the room-temperature conductivity is about a factor of 1000 larger than thaat of the pure polymer, and the activation energy is close to that of the crystalline conductor. Even at higher volume percentages, the conduction in the polymer seems to be modified by the crystalline grains.
