Abstract

In this paper, wehave simulated mixed convective heat transfer in a heated lid-driven right triangular cavity. The cavity is filled with a regular incompressible fluid. We have studied heat transfer and fluid flow using the D2Q5 and D2Q9 model of lattice Boltzmann method, respectively, with the multi relaxation time collision model. Different non-dimensional parameters involved in mixed convection like the Richardson number (Ri=0.01−100), Grashof number (104≤Gr≤107) and Prandtl number (Pr=0.71, 1and7) are considered to study their effect on fluid behavior and heat transfer. The direction of the moving lid is also given significant importance in our study. The average Nusselt number is also calculated along the heated wall.
