Abstract
Caseinolytic Protease Proteolytic Subunit (CLPP) is a protease responsible for the degradation of misfolded mitochondrial proteins. CLPP is activated at the time of cellular metabolic stress and helps maintain homeostasis.The aim of the study was to determine the role of CLPP in female reproductive competence and senescence using a mouse model with oocyte-specific Clpp deletion.
