Abstract

The wide use of power electronics in speed control of DC drives creates commutation notches in AC supply voltage of the source. In this paper a standalone generator of 150 KVA is feeding a variable speed DC drives of 75 KW is studied and a single tuned passive filter is designed to mitigate the notches in supply voltage to be compliance with IEEE Std519:2014.
