Abstract

The article describes a method for determining the source of power quality deterioration, in particular, the source of voltage distortion. This method based on the variation of the power system resistance and transformer resistance by changing the transformation ratio. The paper presents the dependences of total harmonic distortion in voltage on the transformation ratio which can be changed by means of a voltage control device. It is shown that the total harmonic distortion in voltage decreases with decreasing system resistance when there is a source of distortion on the customer`s side relative to the point of common coupling. Changing the derivative of this function with different parameters of high harmonic sources is analyzed and based on this method has been developed for determining the share contribution of consumers to the total harmonic distortion in voltage.
