Abstract
The widespread digitization of science and social life, artificial intelligence algorithms becoming more widely used, as well as the extremely dynamic development of physics and related interdisciplinary research make us stop and reflect on the relevance of the mission of the Polish Physical Society. A special meeting of the PPS Main Board with representatives of the young generation of physicists was devoted to this topic, which took place on September 2, 2023 during the 48th Congress of Polish Physicists in Gdańsk.
