Abstract
Summary The secondary follicles of the prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii have been studied by using electron microscope and horseradish peroxidase. Follicle cells associated with oocytes in secondary vitellogenesis display a network of anastomosed tubules. This network connects all extracellular spaces and increases extensively the permeability of the follicular epithelium.
