Abstract

With the rapid development of 5G millimeter wave communication, the requirements for miniaturization of communication devices are getting higher and higher. In this paper, using integrated passive device (IPD) chip-level manufacturing technology, GaAs is used as the substrate material, and a Lange coupler with a center frequency of 26 GHz is designed and simulated, which greatly reduces the size of the device. The HFSS simulation results show that the size of the Lange coupler is reduced to $1.25\text{mm}\times 0.24\text{mm}$ . At 26 GHz, the standing wave and isolation are below −20 dB, the phase error is less than 2°, S21 is - 4.1 dB, and S31 is −2.5 dB. This Lange coupler has a good application prospect in circuits such as power amplifiers and mixers in the millimeter wave band due to its small size while maintaining good performance.
