Abstract

Electricity is one of the main energies needed by humans today, many of the supporting equipment used by human uses electric power. When the power or electrical power in these devices runs out, it is necessary to recharge it which can only be done if it is connected to a source of electrical energy. The source of electrical energy is generated by several methods of utilizing other resources on Earth, such as hydroelectric power source, steam power source, and solar powe source. In forest exploration or traversing, many tools require electric power such as flashlights and communication devices (Handphone and Handy Talky). Meanwhile, a possible source of electricity to be obtained in the forest is very difficult. One of the most likely sources of electricity is to use Thermoelectric which uses light as a source of electricity and a battery to store electrical power. Thermoelectric can be used as a small generator. The use of thermoelectric can increase the efficiency of energy use. For example, when cooking using a campfire, in addition to cooking, it can be used as a source of small generator. The use of thermoelectric has not previously been widely used as a small generator that can be used as an alternative energy source for military and survival purposes. This paper will discuss more the opportunities for applying thermoelectric as a small generator. Through several studies reported, it is proven that thermoelectric can be used as an alternative source of electrical energy to assist forest exploration.
