Abstract

Student affairs professionals are not only charged with assisting a diverse student body during college, they must also prepare students for career fields in life after higher education. In turn, this qualitative study explored the undergraduate major choices and career aspirations of 29 senior student-athletes at a large, highly selective public institution. Implications and recommendations are presented for student affairs practitioners who work with millennial student-athletes to help this subpopulation hone career aspirations and meaningful undergraduate major choices.
