We have not been able to find a similar instance reported in the literature, although active tuberculosis has been enhanced and aggravated by administration of cortisone to experimental animals.Spain and Molomut1produced tuberculosis in guinea pigs and later treated them respectively with cortisone, with streptomycin, and with a combination of cortisone and streptomycin. Autopsy studies showed the lesions in those receiving cortisone to be more extensive, more widely distributed and less well localized than...Bibliography1.
