Microwave-Photonics Approach in Developing a New Generation of Microwave-Electronics Devices and Systems

Abstract

This paper briefly discusses: the general principle of designing a microwave-photonics (MWP) unit as a part of modern and advanced microwave-electronic equipment using the MWP approach, the component base and nodes used in MWP, modern industrial sectors of microwave electronics based on the MWP approach, including six industry branches that have been intensively developing in recent years, such as security, telecommunications, computer technology, radar, electronic countermeasures and measuring equipment, promising directions of their development, as well as the causes of occurrence, the history of development and the level of MWP current state.
