Abstract

A convenient method for the synthesis of imidazole derivatives using two phase system under microwave induced technique and phase transfer catalyst TMSCl (15%) is described. This technique has increased the rate of reaction drastically as well as the yield of the product when compared to conventional heating method. The synthesized compounds were screened for their in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activities against. The molecular docking studies were carried out using the software Arguslab 4.0.1. and minimum ligand pose energy of all the synthesized benzimidazoles, H-bond interactions and other electrostatic interactions in the active site of the target protein Thymidylate kinase (TMPK) was also investigated.
