Abstract

Nanostructured M(II)-substituted MxFe3-xO4 magnetic ferrites (M = Fe, Mn, or Co; x = 0–1) spherolites have been successfully prepared by a convenient, robust and time-saving microwave-assisted reflux method in EG solvent without any surfactants addition. The formation of ferrite nanostructures is extremely rapid and occurs within 30 min of microwave heating via aggregation-based mechanism. The as-prepared magnetic nanostrured spherolites exhibit high surface area and excellent magnetic properties at room temperature.
