Abstract

The Davies and Gray procedure for determination of uranium in presence of nitric acid has been scaled down to permit the analysis of solutions 0–9 Min nitric acid and containing 20–3000 μg of uranium. The original method required modification in the scaleddown version, the main alterations being removal of NO by rapid stirring during the oxidation of excess of iron(II), and an increase in the amount of two of the reagents. Several analyses can be done together.
