Abstract
Objective:To get a better recovery of sciatic nerve injury caused by gluteal intramuscular injection,microsurgical neurolysis was performed.Methords:Microsurgical neurolysis was performed on 12 cases of the sciatic nerve injury caused by gluteal intramuscular injection.Nine of them obtained a followed up.Results:Complete recovery was achieved in 4 cases,partial recovery in 4,and no improvement in 1,The effective rate was 89%.During the operation the denatured nerve bundle was found in those cases with a caurse less than 3 months while the cicatrized tissue found in those over 3 months of injury.Conclusions:Neurolysis should be carried out as early as possible if 1 month's conservative treatment showing noneffective.Microsurgical neurolysis of perineurium is an effective method for sciatic nerve injury caused by gluteal intramuscular injection.
